Sleigh the Seasonal Slowdown: Maximize Productivity with These Salesforce Hacks
Jenna Trott | December 19, 2024 | 6 Minute Read
The final weeks between December and January often leave businesses stuck in slow motion. The office treats are gone, the gift exchanges are over, and now we’re all just watching the calendar wind down. Emails pile up unanswered, meetings get rescheduled endlessly, and most calls land in voicemail purgatory.
But who says productivity has to wait for January? Instead of coasting through these final days of 2024, jumpstart your efficiency journey with these powerful Salesforce strategies that will help you maximize your holiday hustle and set the stage for an incredible new year!
1. Pin List Views
‘Tis the season to get organized! Like hanging your favorite ornaments on the tree, pin your most-used list views in Salesforce. Salesforce provides shortcuts to “Recently Viewed” records, but if they’re no longer serving you, it’s time to take charge. Customize your own list view to streamline your workflow and set yourself up for a more efficient year ahead.

2. Utilize Favorites
Just like bookmarking your favorite holiday cookie recipes, you can do the same in Salesforce. Your most important pages will be easily accessible, ensuring you stay organized and prepared to achieve success in the coming year.
For further information on how to set up a favorites list, click here.
Above the navigation bar is a star icon that allows you to “favorite” important records.
Clicking on the downward-facing arrow to the right of the “favorites” star allows you to further edit.
3. Inline Editing in List Views
Tired of updates taking longer than that holiday ham to cook? Streamline your workflow and supercharge productivity with inline editing in Salesforce! Instead of opening each record individually, simply double-click on fields within your list view to edit them directly. It’s a quick way to save time and stay on track.
If you can’t double-click to update, ask your admin to enable inline editing. Say hello to effortless workflows and a dynamic start to the year!

Be sure that “Inline Editing” is enabled under user permissions (Settings → Set-Up → User Interface).
4. Pipeline Inspection
Pipeline Inspection is like the final countdown before the clock strikes midnight. It gives you a clear, last-minute review of your sales pipeline, highlighting where you stand and where adjustments are needed to hit your targets in the coming year.

→ Rename: To rename items, click the pencil icon next to the item you wish to rename. Note: Items specified by your admin cannot be renamed.
→ Reorder: Simply drag and drop tabs to arrange them in an order that suits your needs for quicker access.
→ Add Favorites: To add items, click “Add More Items.” You can search through your favorites or browse all available items in your organization. Once selected, you can reorder or remove items before saving your changes.

8. Running Reports
As the year’s final days tick by, leverage the gift of insight through Salesforce reports. With just a few clicks, reports reveal the answers to your most pressing business questions:
→ What’s your average deal closure timeline?
→ Which sources are delivering your biggest opportunities?
→ Are there specific industries where you shine?
→ How are your monthly numbers stacking up?
Take it a step further by pairing your reports with Einstein Discovery. This powerful combination uncovers deeper patterns and presents insights through clear, actionable visualizations, helping you make data-driven decisions as you head into the new year.
