Since joining Access Global Group in March 2020, Kara Hughes has played a pivotal role in shaping recruitment, HR operations, and company culture. As Director of Recruitment, Kara guides the full lifecycle of AGG’s hiring and HR functions, while also launching innovative programs that support long-term growth and real opportunity. Her work reflects the heart of AGG’s mission: people-first, future-focused, and powered by real-world solutions that make a difference.
Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition Strategy: Leads all recruitment across AGG’s internal departments and managed services, spanning sales, delivery, operations, and marketing.
Team Leadership: Manages a fast-growing recruitment team of seven, while also recruiting directly for specialized and high-priority roles.
HR Operations: Oversees U.S.-based HR functions including benefits administration, employee handbooks, onboarding, and compliance audits..
Program Development: Created and manages AGG’s Salesforce Internship Program and H1B Consultant Program to grow talent pipelines and strengthen Summit Partner credentials.
Client Support: Actively staffs and manages consultant placements for client engagements, including a $4M+ account she helped build from the ground up.
Culture & Employee Experience: Supports engagement through anniversary gifting, new hire orientation, and informal employee guidance.
Behind every thriving team at Access Global Group (AGG) is someone quietly building the foundation—connecting people, shaping culture, and creating space for growth. This month, we’re proud to spotlight Kara Hughes, the driving force behind AGG’s recruitment and HR operations. Since joining in March 2020, Kara has helped scale our workforce, launch strategic hiring programs, and build a culture rooted in care and clarity. Her work reflects AGG’s deeper mission: making complex solutions human, accessible, and genuinely valuable to the people we serve.
Where Operations Meet Opportunities
“My current and always evolving title is Director of Recruitment,” Kara says, but the scope of her work speaks volumes.
She leads a skilled and growing team—soon to be seven recruiters—tasked with placing talent across AGG’s internal departments and through Managed Services. “We fill internal and external positions. Both to fuel our internal operations, marketing, sales, and delivery teams. Externally, we place all technologies and tools through what we call Managed Services.”
In addition to recruitment, Kara plays a key role in ensuring AGG’s HR operations run smoothly and consistently. From benefits administration to onboarding guidance, she supports a range of essential people-first processes that keep teams informed, engaged, and aligned. Her approach blends structure with accessibility, making it easier for employees to get what they need, when they need it, while helping AGG maintain high standards across the board.
She also oversees anniversary gifts, new hire orientations, and manages consultant teams embedded in client organizations, including one high-performing account now worth nearly $4 million annually.
“It’s a fast-paced, exciting environment.” And it runs a little smoother because Kara’s at the center of it.
Programs With Purpose
When asked what she’s most proud of, Kara’s answer comes quickly, “I’m proud of our H1B program where we recruit consultants annually to assist offshore Salesforce Consultants to have the potential to be sponsored by AGG,” she says.
It’s a program rooted in accessibility, built to offer real career pathways to global Salesforce talent. For many, this initiative becomes a bridge to something bigger: a future shaped by opportunity, stability, and a team that sees their worth.
In addition to recruiting senior talent, Kara has helped shape key initiatives that support AGG’s future talent pipeline, most notably, the Salesforce Internship Program. Designed to strengthen AGG’s Summit-level standing and bring in fresh voices, the program welcomes junior developers, admins, business analysts, and marketers into the Salesforce ecosystem with hands-on experience and mentorship.
These smart, mission-aligned engines help power both client delivery and community growth within AGG and beyond.
Driven By Human Outcomes
If you ask Kara what drives her, she won’t talk about titles or numbers. She’ll talk about the people—their stories, their families, their potential.
“I am a dedicated, self-motivated individual who enjoys spinning many plates and moving at a fast pace,” she says.
That momentum matters. But it’s not motion for motion’s sake. Kara’s fueled by outcomes that stick: people finding roles where they can grow, thrive, and contribute.
“Seeing people placed into roles and succeeding motivates me, and a ‘good job’ goes a long way.”
And for Kara, it’s not just about what gets said after the hire, it’s what happens in the moment someone feels understood. “You answered all of my questions by how you ran your interview,” she recalls a candidate telling her. “Thank you, it took the pressure off and allowed me to focus on sharing my experience.”
Those are the moments that stay with her.
“Seeing people’s families mature and grow while they are employed with us is a shining prize for me. Seeing companies able to scale and meet their end clients’ deadlines makes me happy as well.”
Kara goes beyond simply matching resumes to roles, she matches people to possibility. And when it works? Everyone at AGG moves forward.
Purpose That Doesn’t Punch Out
Kara moves fast at AGG—but her impact doesn’t stop at the office door. When she’s not leading recruitment strategy or shaping company culture, she’s recharging in motion.
“I enjoy family time, and I am a board gamer. I’m an avid kayaker and a bike enthusiast. I love vintage vehicles.”
But where Kara really lights up is in service.
“I enjoy spending time volunteering with multiple cancer organizations. I sit on the board of a camp for children whose parents are/or have navigated cancer, and I volunteer with the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society as a Cancer Connection Specialist for those who are/have battled cancer and need support.”
That outreach adds up to about 10 people a month, and over time, Kara found new ways to deepen that support.
She went on to launch the Relentless Love Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit focused on supporting single parents navigating cancer. The foundation’s programs are designed to meet overlooked needs with compassion and creativity, from birthday and holiday sponsorships to tech access and artistic personalization of medical equipment.
“My programs include sponsoring birthdays and Christmas for the families, also a juicing/juicer program, a Laptop Program, a cell phone program and a program that connects local artists with patients who have communication aug comm devices, prosthetic limbs and protective helmets, etc. to have them painted/curated to make them more beautiful for the person using them.”
And when families are overwhelmed, she connects the dots most don’t even know they need: “I also connect these wonderful people with services across the nation, whether it be home cleaning services, to meal trains, to ride shares, you name it. Every little bit helps when you are traversing cancer.”
Because sometimes, the most meaningful help comes quietly—by noticing what’s needed before anyone has to ask.
“People don’t know what they need until they don’t have it and even then they don’t know where to go to resource these services.”
For Kara, her passions are rooted in showing up, filling the gaps, and making sure no one walks through the hard stuff alone.
Scaling with Intention, Hiring with Heart
Kara’s focus is clear: grow AGG with purpose, and bring the right people along for the ride.
“I am very much looking forward to helping scale our organization as we undergo the new acquisition and growth we are experiencing,” she says. “To hand select people and know they have a place and can lend to that scalability truly brings a sense of satisfaction.”
That mindset shapes how Kara leads recruitment. Every hire, every program, every process is designed to support scale and substance.
Her vision for the future? Measured, grounded, and ambitious in all the right ways.
“Help AGG become the strongest company that is commonplace in daily conversation for those who are impacted by our ability to deliver quality software and services to make their lives, their companies and their outlook brighter.”
It’s a direction that speaks to AGG’s values: deliver excellence, stay human, and always build toward something that matters.
