At Access Global Group (AGG), we believe in the power of giving back to our communities. That’s why we encourage our team members to volunteer their time and energy to local events and organizations that make a positive impact on the lives of others. One shining example of this commitment is our very own Kara Hughes, a dedicated employee at AGG who also serves as a board member and Keynote Speaker for Kesem, a summer camp for children navigating parental cancer.

Amidst the joys of childhood, some children find themselves grappling with the harsh realities of parental cancer. With millions of parents diagnosed annually, the emotional toll on their children is profound. As they navigate the uncertainty and upheaval, our local communities look to those touched by cancer to raise their voices and offer crucial support and hope.

Kesem provides a haven for these children, offering them the opportunity to participate in empowering activities, discussions, and mentorship opportunities. The camp serves as a safe space for children to share their experiences, find solace in peer support, and discover their resilience amidst adversity.

For children navigating parental cancer, the journey is filled with complexities and uncertainties. They grapple with fear, anxiety, and feelings of isolation as they witness their parent’s battle with cancer. Moreover, they must learn to balance caregiving responsibilities with their own need for support and understanding.

Through involvement in local organizations like Kesem, we contribute to the growth and well-being of our youth. Children find a sense of belonging and solidarity, forging friendships with peers who understand their struggles and sharing coping strategies. They gain access to resources and support networks that empower them to navigate life’s challenges with resilience and hope. And most importantly, at no cost to the family.
