#NewYearNewMe

NewYearNewMe

As we tear off the last page of 2021 and look forward to 2022, many of us use this as a fresh start to motivate change in our personal or professional lives. We’ve all heard the saying “New Year, New Me” before to signify what ambitious goals lay on the horizon, but how often do we stick to these goals? Usually by February, our aspirations lay discarded in our office’s “miscellaneous” drawer, only to be dusted off come New Years Eve of the following year, with a proclamation that this is the year it finally gets done. Start 2022 off right with Access Global Group’s guide to getting it done!

Begin with a Vision

What are you hoping to achieve in 2022? Write it down; think about what your goals are and why it’s important for you to achieve them. Hang this up or put it somewhere that’s easily accessible, so you can have something tangible to refer back to as the year progresses.

Identify Any Obstacles

Acknowledging obstacles will help you define what actions need to be taken in order to achieve your goal. Whether the problems you face are small or large, break them down into more manageable steps, identify the things you can change and accept what you cannot.

Get Help

When all else fails, don’t be afraid to ask for help! We’re all only human after all and it can help to get insight from someone who’s been in a similar situation before. Salesforce does an amazing job at making educational resources available for their users. In addition to trailheads, webinars and online tutorials, Salesforce is always hosting on-demand events to help you go further in your Salesforce journey. Their online calendar features upcoming events for Admins, Developers, Salesforce newbies plus much more.

Create a To-Do List

Tackling a to-do list is never fun. Especially when it’s filled with smaller tasks that are easy to keep putting off until tomorrow. In an article published by Harvard Business Review, Peter Bergman suggests a method for breaking down your impossibly long to-do lists. In his method, Bergman describes creating a list of things you need to do, no matter how long it is, and selecting just one item from your list to focus on. Write that item on a sticky note and put it somewhere visible. Once the task is completed, take down the sticky note, cross the item off of your master to-do list and repeat the process. This prevents getting overwhelmed and thus immobile when dealing with a never-ending to-do list.

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

Now more than ever, communicating and collaborating with others is the best way to generate innovative ideas. Your level of openness with others is your level of commitment to learning new things. Don’t be afraid to reach out to new people where it aligns with your overarching goals, whether it’s personal or professional. Salesforce offers an online social platform for companies, employees, customers, clients and partners to seamlessly connect with one another and share valuable ideas and information.

Celebrate your Success

Lastly, don’t brush your successes under the rug, take the time to acknowledge them and celebrate them! It’s easy to accomplish the thing you said you would and move on to your next big item but we encourage you to pause, congratulate yourself, go out for drinks with friends or indulge in a meal from your favorite restaurant. What you’re doing is hard – take time to recognize your efforts!

So, as we bid farewell to 2021 and say hello to the blank canvas of 2022, we encourage you to ask yourself what you’ll create – whatever it is, we hope these tips help you get there!
