Salesforce–You Asked-WeAnswered
Salesforce continues to rank as the world’s #1 customer relationship management (CRM) tool, helping businesses to keep their marketing, sales, commerce, service and IT teams unified – no matter where in the world they work. So many companies not only prefer, but rely on Salesforce, including big name brands such as: Spotify, T-Mobile, Adidas, The New York Post, L’Oréal Americas, American Red Cross and so much more. So what is it about Salesforce that makes it the preferred choice to keep businesses running smoothly? To answer that question – we first must understand what exactly Salesforce is.

What is Salesforce?

Created in California in 1999, Salesforce was created as a cloud-based software to aid in customer relationship management and provide premier applications focused on sales, customer service, marketing automation, analytics, and application development. In 2020, Salesforce claimed a 19.5% share of the overall CRM market, surpassing SAP, Oracle, Microsoft and Adobe – combined.

What are the benefits of Salesforce?

The benefits to using Salesforce are innumerable, but at its core it helps to promote client collaboration by strengthening connections; which in turn fosters consumer loyalty. When customers feel satisfied with the product/service they’ve received from your company, they’re more likely to return in the future, placing you in the position of being an industry leader for superior customer service and quality assurance compared to your competitors. Salesforce users love the connection capabilities that the software provides as it helps prevent disengaged buyers and dropping the ball on opportunities.

As of 2021, Salesforce has obtained more than 150,000 customers worldwide and if you’re wondering how you can become one of them – keep reading.

When to implement Salesforce?

There is no greater time to implement Salesforce than now, but it’s particularly important if your company is facing the following challenges:

  • Difficulty tracking and managing leads
  • Relying on time consuming manual data entries
  • Finding an abundance of data inconsistencies
  • Spending an increasing amount of time trying to solve problems
  • Difficulty connecting with clients and employees
  • Facing a plateau in company growth

If this sounds like your current situation, it may be time for you to make the switch.

How do I prepare for a Salesforce implementation?

Prior to implementation, it’s important that team members identify not only their short-term goals, but their overarching long-term goals as well. This requires teams to work collaboratively with one another to determine the vision for their Salesforce platform. Making sure that every voice is heard, but particularly key-stakeholders, will be a critical aspect in mapping out your plan for implementation. Once you feel as though a comprehensive vision has been established, be sure to document your plans and ideas in a concrete document to refer back to as you move through the implementation process.

How long does a Salesforce implementation take?

There is no hard and fast rule to determine how long an implementation will take. There are a number of factors that need to be taken into consideration, particularly: the size of your organization, how much project planning has previously occurred, what it is you’re hoping to accomplish and organizational requirements, to name a few. Every business is different, for some, it could take as little as two months for an out-of-the-box start up and for others, it could take up to a year. An effective implementation involves having the right consulting team to help ensure that the project timeline is staying on track and strategizes for further optimization.

Is it easy to implement Salesforce?

Salesforce, while easy to use, can be tricky to implement. This goes for implementing any new piece of technology into your organization, which is why it can be helpful to hire a consultant who knows the intricacies of the instance and is well-versed in problem solving. Hiring a Salesforce consultant can help with these additional concerns as well:

  • Preventing data loss from switching systems
  • System customizations suited for your business’s goals
  • Periodic check-ins throughout implementation to ensure your needs and goals are being met
  • System tests to validate that your system is working properly
  • Post-system deployment training so your team feels confident moving forward with their new system

Implementing Salesforce on your own is not impossible but it leaves a large margin for error. Working with a trained and professional consultant allows for the implementation to be done right the first time.

If there’s one thing we learned from the past few years, it’s that change can be hard, but ultimately – it’s inevitable. It’s paramount that businesses utilize technology to become more agile in order to adapt to the ever changing work environment. The decision to implement Salesforce is a big one, so we want to make sure that your company is prepared.
